The renovation and redecoration of once famous and popular restaurant Ribja was a part of the project YH Situla – Museum as a living space. The building in the town’s centre was transformed into Hostel Situla.
Thematic decoration of the facilities creates an atmosphere of the early Iron Age in Hostel Situla and converts traditional way of presenting history into a fresh and innovative approach. Guests can feel the “triumph” of a Hallstatt prince when residing or just visiting Hostel Situla and thus promote Novo mesto as the Town of Situlas on their further travels and upon arrival home.
The architecture as well as the decoration of the rooms in Hostel Situla is connected to the art of the age when the situlas were created. It is accompanied by modern architecture, whose task is to connect the past with the future.
